Winter Storm

So this morning we woke up to about 10 inches of snow and the weather people kept saying that it would change to rain..... Here are some picture I took while Jake shoveled!

Almost 9 months!

Kahlan had her nine month check up this week. She is growing so fast. She is 13 lbs 13 oz (.55 percentile), 26 1/4 inches tall (16.23 percentile) and her head is 16 inches (.41 percentile). So she is not huge but she is growing:) Kahlan is getting a little big for her 3-6 month closes so we just got out her 6 month clothes and they fit. There are new cute outfits:) Last week Kahlan got her first tooth, it is the bottom right one. Then this morning I noticed she got her other bottom tooth. Also, she is trying to crawl and getting close. She gets up on her knees and rocks back and forth but has not figured out how to coordinate hands and knees.

Kahlan is 8 months old now. We had Kelsey's cousin take a few photos of the family and this one turned out good with Kahlan all smiles and sitting up like a big girl.

Ward Halloween Party!

We borrowed this costume from my friend who made it when her youngest was a baby. It is a purple Sea Anemone. Everyone thought that she looked so cute. She did not like it too much, she would rather eat it than wear it!

Six Months!!!

Here is a comparison of when we brought Kahlan home from the hospital (almost 3 weeks old) and her on September 11 (exactly 6 months old).

She usually goes crazy in the jumper but as soon as you get a camera in her face she freezes:)

As of late...

So Kahlan is growing so fast and starting to do so much more. At her 6 month check up she was 12lb 3oz and 24 1/4 inches long. Her head is .16 percentile so it is tiny:) Well, she likes being on her feet so we are glad that we have a saucer (that my sister Terra gave us) and a jumper (that my mother-in-law sent us). She loves both for a time and then wants a change of scenery. She is also getting really good at grabbing toys. Lastly, we have started her on rice cereal and she is doing well. It was really fun to see her face when we gave it to her. She tries to help me feed her by grabbing the spoon or using her left hand to chew the food:) I can't believe how big she is!!

Graduation!!!

I have made it through college now!! It feels so good to be done with my degree....well almost I just need to motivate myself to finish my independent study class:)

Standing!

All of the sudden Kahlan has discovered that she has legs that she can stand on! She will actually stiffen her legs and stand on your lap or on the couch or on the floor or anywhere. She thinks that she is so cool and will just smile. Sometimes she will giggle a little. She is just growing so fast!

Kahlan's new toys!

A few days ago we took Kahlan to the store to get her a stuffed animal. We put so many in front of her to see how she would react. Most of them she just looked at and didn't really respond to them. Then we found a little puppy and she grabbed at it. Here is Kahlan with her puppy.


Then Jake found this pink hedgehog and put it in front of Kahlan and she got a big smile on her face. It is now her favorite toy and she loves to eat the nose. It is basically her size but she loves it so much!
