Funny Kahlan Stories!
Kahlan is growing up so fast and she is definitely her own person. She is getting to the age that Jake calls "kids say the darnest things." Here are a few stories that make us laugh!
Bugs: So we have these small little flies that always fly in our faces. Kahlan get really mad at them and usually yells at them to "go away". Its pretty funny but the other day she was so tired of the fly she yelled "go your own home". It was so funny, she was like this is my home so go to your own.
Skype and phone: Kahlan loves to skype and talk on the phone to everyone. But now she uses her play computer and phone to talk whenever she wants. She'll walk around on her phone and tell whoever what she is doing or if she went potty. Also she will sit on her computer and I'll ask her what she is going and she'll say she is skyping with someone, usually whoever we just recently skyped with. It's pretty funny what she tells them too.
Super Why: This is a PBS show that Kahlan loves. She usually watches it in the morning when I'm working. It's one of those shows that pauses to let the kid respond. Kahlan has started to respond. It ask your name and she says "I Kahlan" and then it ask if you will help and she says "yeah". She loves to dance when they sing the end song and that song always get stuck in my head.
Memory: Kahlan has a memory like an elephant all of the sudden. She will randomly say something that we did months ago. Or if you told her something the day before the next morning she asks about it right away. It's a little hard because you can't promise something for the next day and not do it because she remembers now :) My favorite is we saw some fireworks at a baseball game this summer with family and Kahlan will all of the sudden line her animals up and say they are watching fireworks. Then she will remind me that she saw fire works at the "game ball" (she mixes the words up). Then she will go on to say that she saw a dog there too. I get to hear this a least twice a week.
Singing and reading: Kahlan loves to sing and we sing all the time. I will hear her singing to her aminals and babies. She is really learning a lot of the words to our favorite songs. She loves her church songs too and knows most of the words in a few of them. Kahlan also loves to read. We read everyday and she will read to herself all the time too. She makes up her own language sometimes but with most of the books she knows the stories so well that she will say some of the words or phrases from the page. We have read them so much that she is starting to memorize them. They really learn and take in so much at this stage.
There are probably more but that is all I can think of right now. She is adorable and we love her so much! Life would be so boring without her. She can be trying because she thinks it's funny not to listen or she will throw fits when she doesn't get her way but I am getting more patient and learning to ignore some things.

Potty training and a new Baby!!
Well, we have been trying to potty train Kahlan this week. Day one was really bad so we took a day off. Then we asked if she wanted to learn and she said she did. So we are doing well. On this day one we only had one accident. She held number 2 all day and i thought she would wait until we put a pull up for bedtime but right after dinner she went and I think she felt a lot better! Day two we have had one accident and she doesn't hold 2 in anymore. She is becoming such a big girl!
Now, for those who do not know we are having another baby. I am due February 15th. I am 14 weeks and doing great. We were able to get an early ultrasound to make sure the baby is good. The baby looked great, was right on schedule and moving around. We are really excited to bring another little one in our life.
Catch Up!!!
So this summer got pretty crazy with being with grandparents, moving, going back to NC for family and coming back. Therefore I thought I would catch up on what we did this summer.

Dress up at DeeDee's house
Went on the USS
Where the sailors slept!
Daddy and Kahlan laughing at each other!
Trying to pull the barrels out.
At the beach, she liked the sand but got more scared of the water each day.
The sun is bright.
Aunt Aja and Kahlan, two peas in a pod. She became Aunt Aja's shadow when we visited!

Helping cleaning!

Water park, she liked it ok.
One of Kahlan's favorite things to do at Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt's house. She puts Mr. Potato things in her ears. She is so cute though:)

Playing Grandpa's drums. She loves music!

JC Penny- Random
Very rarely do I blog about anything other than Kahlan. But here is one of those times. My mom and I went to Four Seasons Mall in Greensboro. She was getting her eyes checked out so I was walking around with Kahlan. Now if you don't know I like to cook and I am always looking at kitchen appliances or cooking utensils. So I was wondering through JC Penny's kitchen area. I came upon the Belgium Waffles makers. Jake and I have wanted one forever. We keep waiting and looking for the best deal. We have never thought that we could justify the price. But there I was and they had single one for 25 dollars and a double for 50. But if I opened an account then I got 20 percent off which would make then 20 and 40 dollars respectively. So I called Jake and we decided to get the double for 40 and if we decided it wasn't worth it we could just return it.
Well, I get up to check out and I open my account and.... it turns out the double Belgium Waffle maker is on sale for 25 dollars!!!!! Then I go my 20 percent off and it ended up costing around 21 dollars. Let just say I was freaking out a little! I called Jake back and he was pretty stoked too! It seems like our waiting has paid off since we never found a nice one less than 60. Also, I have heard the new campaign for JCP about their prices being great etc.... but I didn't expect what I got for my price! Now that I have rattled on for a while, I shall end. I was just so excited, I just had to share!

Sailing!
We were over at Jake's parents and they knew that the Greensboro Yatch Club were giving free sailing rides over at a lake. Yes, Greensboro has a Yatch club but it's more like a sailing club. No one there had a yatch:) Anyway, we decided to go and we really enjoyed it. Even Kahlan liked it after she got over the fact that she has to keep the life vest on. Here are a few pictures!
