Everyday is dress-up day for Kahlan!

Yes, she picks out her own outfits most days!

Kahlan has started to dance with her toy Prince like Cinderella does!

She even holds up her shirt like a skirt!

Ian looks so tiny on this already over small blanket but we are glad he is home and growing.

First minutes of Life

Ian Donald Schmidt

Ian Donald Schmidt was born at 10:54am on January 17, 2013. He is just a little over a month early. He weighed 4 lbs and 6 oz and was 18 inches long. He has been placed in the NICU but doesn't have much work to do to get out. Unlike his sister, who was also the same weight but an inch longer, Ian has already mastered the ability to suck for nourishment. That means he is at least a week or so ahead of his big sister in regards of getting out of the NICU. 

Santa

Christmas is so fun this year with Kahlan. She understands more and gets into it. She was reall excited to see Santa. We weren't sure if she would really sit on him or not.

She was a little nervous but didn't freak out!

 

 Then she got a little more comfortable.

When Santa asked what her name was, she said Kahlan Schmidt. She has to say both:) Then she told him she wanted a princess for christmas and he gave her a candy cane. She really liked the candy cane and kept telling me that she got it from Santa. It was fun! She really has been enjoying the Christmas music too. She is learning some of them and she will just start singing them whenever.

On a side note....Kahlan is getting excited for her brother. She refers to him as her brother. She'll say "thats my brother". She's going to be a great big sister!

Everyday Life!

This is pretty much an everyday occurrence at home. Kahlan is a little girl to the max! She loves her princess dresses, getting her nails painted and wearing bows! She also loves her babies and stuffed animals.
